The Baystate Medical Centers adult ICU has been most appreciative with the more than 40 quilts that you have donated.  They have sent a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to their cause.  We will continue to collect these small (36") treasures for them, but will add yet another organization that heard about our generous folks.  Similar to BMC, Cooley Dickinson Hospital also has a Critical Care Unit.  They too are trying to add some comfort to their patients in this difficult time.  Becky Jones from CDH writes, "We would be very pleased to receive any number of quilts that you would be willing to give to us.  On average, we have 2-4 patients a month who decide against aggressive treatment in favor of comfort care treatment.  While not every patients family would want to take the quilt home with them, we imagine that most families would indeed like to be able to keep a quilt as a memento of their last hours with their loved one."  They are looking for quilts that measure approximately 36" x 50".  We will continue to donate to these two organizations for the time being.

Can it be that time of the year already?  July 1st passports go on sale for our 9th annual shop hop.  For the low, low price of just $5, this year you will receive a sweet tin showing off antique sewing notions (have you seen them...oh "sew" cute) along with all the directions for this always fun filled weekend.
